My granddaughter (7) has developed dreadful Psoriasis. We know it is Psoriasis because we took her to see a private consultant as her GP refused to prescribe anything without a diagnosis from a consultant and the wait on the NHS to see one was about 7 months. She was prescribed Elocon (mometasone furoate) by the consultant which initially was miraculous but now the psoriasis is back with a vengeance and the poor little mite is really distressed. It is spreading all over her body and she is scratching herself to bits. The GP still refuses to further prescribe without the say so of a consultant and the ‘urgent’ referral on the NHS has come for 6 months time. Taking her back to the private consultant seems to be the only option but is difficult from an affordability perspective, additionally waits to see him are approximately two months.
Please, please if you have any experience and advice of what might help I’d be so grateful for it, my poor granddaughter is so upset she’s now wetting the bed almost nightly.
For those of you whose child has suffered with Psoriasis, is my son and daughter in law’s experience with the GP normal? It doesn’t seem at all helpful to me.
P.S.
