yesterday i had a short nap and had my 2 month old baby sleeping safely next to me. as we were out in the living room my mum was sitting next to us. i woke up and my mum had the baby and told me that she had let out a few coughs then started to act as if she was choking, when my mum picked her up she said she threw up clear stringy mucus. after this baby was completely fine, alert as normal, eating drinking normal and normal wet/dirty nappies. now fast forward around 9 hours we’ve been asleep since around 12 shes in her next to me im in my bed, i’ve randomly woke up and heard my baby let out a small cough (didnt sound worrying) but i looked over at her after and she was flailing around with her mouth open like she couldnt breath i jumped up turned her on her side with no luck still no sounds coming from her or any sign of breathing until i picked her up and firmly patted her back. once she was breathing again she didnt cry or anything just kinda sat there like it was normal like nothing has happened? now it was dark in my room she could have been breathing and fine but im 99.9% sure she wasnt breathing but then why was she fine after? no signs of distress or anything. i had her sitting up and again a few minutes later she coughed and almost gagged but not fully. does this warrant a trip to a&e now? as she has her 8 week check up at 10:30 with the gp (now 5am). I had her with me laying on an incline on my legs but ive put her back in her next to me for now but im too afraid to sleep incase next time i dont wake up. I’ve always been a light sleeper with frequent wakings in the night for no reason however not after having my baby i seem to only really be woken by my baby when shes hungry but now she lasts the whole night i will maybe only wake up once inbetween, but tonight ive woken up once every hour since we fell asleep i think my brain is super aware of the fact it happened to her in the evening even if i wasnt thinking about it, but now how will i ever sleep again if this has just happenedðŸ˜. i did notice a big booger up her nose after so i used some saline spray and a bulb syringe and removed it. and i always put on a humidifier at night but last night i forgot so i put on the humidifier and we sat by it for 15 mins now its still on in the same room
