Undescended testes 6 month old

anyone else’s baby had undescended testes at 6
months old? We think our babies were down at the 6 week check but now they are in the groin area and don’t come down. He has been referred to surgeons. Extremely worried about the long term affects like fertility and cancer. Looking for positive stories

We had this with our DS, he had the op at around 1 and they stitched everything in place. He just has a little scar now, you’d never know. Honestly it was worse on me seeing him go to theatre than on him. It’s good you have been referred do you know how long you will have to wait?

Thanks for replying. Was his one or both? Yes I’m dreading the surgery too I know that will be awful. They haven’t said how long it will be but they did the referral as urgent so hopefully won’t be too long for the initial appointment
