Can anyone help me out as I am spiralling a little. I am calling the GP tomorrow but I do feel my son has this. Scaphocephaly ? His head is cone shaped and he has one ear lower than the other. He also always breathes through his mouth if that means anything. I am looking through photos of him and wondering how I didnt notice before . So it kind of looks like a rugby ball shape at the top I guess. Can anyone who has been through this either private message me or comment because I am just worrying . I don't want to be fobbed off but I equally worry that tomorrow I will get told my worries are right. He is my third child so I am not a first time mum or a hypochondriac I just know its not quite right.

GPs are (in my experience) pretty quick to refer these if there are obvious concerns, and the referrals are treated as urgent. So I would hope your uncertainty either way will be addressed by professionals in good time, any comments on here are bound to be pretty speculative.

Many "is this craniosynostosis?" referrals do turn out to be just human variation in head shapes. Even in true craniosynostosis, with the right intervention (albeit from very specialist teams), many have a very good outlook.

Thank you 💐 I didn't go to the GP in the end i spoke with hv on the phone and without even seeing him she just said plenty of tummy time 🙃 I may take him just to be sure.

I think if you're struggling to be reassured, I would get the GP opinion too (via being seen, there is no substitute for a visual impression).
