Bit of an unusual one. My son is 11 and I suspect low needs on the autism spectrum. No difficulties in life so it’s not a concern as such just may be relevant.
At night he wraps himself in his duvet like a caterpillar so tight it’s frightening. I countered this by buying a weighted blanket so the weight might help him feel secure instead of virtually mummifying himself every night. It did work for a while but he’s now wrapping himself in both blankets so probably worse thank before. I’ve just moved him and unwrapped him a bit you know, to breathe and stuff and he hid his hands. He doesn’t know I noticed he’s wearing socks on his hands up to his elbows. It’s not a cold thing, he’s not very fussed by temperature so I’m a tad confused! I pretended not to notice.
had anyone else known this? It’s a tad random

He clearly likes being bundled up. He's not going to suffocate at that age, and if he likes it let him crack on. Probably same for his hands. You can get running sleeves that cover arms if it's just a gentle pressure on his arms that he's looking for.

He needs the pressure to regulate. He may find deep pressure activites and compression items helpful.

Yeah I only adjust when he’s got his head covered too. And somehow he does it with his arms strapped straight down to his sides so he can’t freely move at all 😂he must get in and roll.

Thankyou for the suggestion pp further down they came up in my feed too, I did have a look. Bless him

We’ve had a little chat and he said he needs firm pressure as I thought it must be. The socks were just a new element that caught me by surprise!
