Child’s stomach pain

My daughter has been unwell for over three weeks now, initially with a throat infection and given antibiotics. Then with stomach pain, vomiting, diarrhoea. Diarrhoea and vomiting stopped but continues to have stomach pain. Seen three different drs, firstly advised it’s gastroenteritis, stool sample taken (results not back) then told she is run down but initial infection and told children get stomach aches, probably due to constipation. She is also getting leg pain as well. I feel I am constantly being dismissed by the doctors. Stomach pain just continuing. I am concerned this is a grumbling appendix. No scan offered .Anyone else had a similar situation many thanks

There can be all sorts of reasons for abdominal pan in children. You don’t say how old your DD is.

Mesenteric adenitis can last up to 4 weeks and is swollen lymph nodes in the abdomen. Abdominal migraine is another one and anxiety can present as abdominal pain as well as starting periods. Is she unwell with it? Have a temperature? Did it resolve with calpol/ibuprofen?
