My 10 year daughter has a couple of spots on the back of her leg. This one is the most noticeable one and the other two are not as raised or red. I have attached a photo.

They don't seem to bother her at all, but just wondering if it something I need to see the GP for? I took her the pharmacist, but they recommended allergy cream and it is not making any difference. Just wondering if anyone had any ideas. Thank you!

Looks like molluscum contagiosum

CrikeyMajikey · 18/01/2026 21:47

Looks like Moluscum. Quite common in kids, my DD’s lasted about 18 months. We used Sudocrem if they got scratched & opened up and camomile lotion if they were itchy.

Agree ds had it a couple years ago, it lasted around a year. We tried some spray to get rid of it but it didn’t work

@Barrellturn and @CrikeyMajikey Thank you for reassuring me! I am off to do some research!

I have very similar. Got them checked by the GP can’t remember what they were called but GP didn’t refer me for any tests (I am high risk skin cancer).

In all likelihood they are harmless (especially in kids), but I get everything checked.

worth getting the GP or pharmacist’s opinion.
