I think it would be bothering him by now if it was a cold sore.

It does look a bit like the start of one but it would be unusual for there to be no change for weeks. Normally you get a red patch thats a bit itchy, it blisters and then within a day or two the blisters burst and become intermittently weepy and scabbed over until it heals....so grim. If this isn't changing its probably something else.

Oh yeah it could well be, if anything I’d say if there’s been any change at all, sometimes it looks like it’s got a bit better then flares up a bit back to this. Just thought it’s strange as it’s been a couple of weeks! Hmm 😕
