Chicken pox scars

MY DD8 had an awful case of chickenpox over Christmas, she was absolutely covered and the worst ones were on her face 😥 She has been left with 3 prominent marks on her forehead that are still so red and obvious. I’m feeing so guilty like I could have done more to prevent it, and so worried she’s going to be left with awful sunken scars. Please can people reassure me that it isn’t so bad as I’m thinking? I’m massaging bio oil in twice a day, and other tips gratefully received! Thank you

It won't be so bad, honestly. The redness will fade &, the massage will make a big difference

My son got chickenpox when he was a baby and scratch a few of the scabs off his face, and at 23 years old he has the scars after all these years. I thought over the years they would vanish but nope 😬 not want you want to hear but just being honest. Hope your dd is ok

My brother still has a scar right between his eyes from chicken pox. They'll fade but remain.

I had complete bodily coverage with Chickenpox and a few nasty marks at 14, but they disappeared almost completely within months. Your 8 year old will be fine, children heal well.

I have one on my forehead from when I got chicken pox at the age of 10. I'm nearly 60.
