My baby does this thing were she squeezes her legs together really right and winces back and fourth. It started around 6 months and were are nearly a year now and I feel its getting worse.
She has been seen by health visitors 3 different GPS paediatricians but noone seems to know what it is.
She is otherwise well but it causes her discomfort which is really hard to watch.
She has had x rays blood tests urine samples swabs but nothing shows up.
I am at my wits end.
Sometimes it can take over an hour to get her to sleep just writhing back and fourth and wincing constantly.
Thw health professionals have seen this and aren't concerned, you know what they are like, shes still putting on weight shes not screaming she must be ok.
But mums know best.
And there is something wrong :(
I cant even go private because shes so young.
I just needed to vent.
A stressed out mum.

Sorry what do you mean by wincing? I’m not sure I know what movement you mean.

Does she only do it while falling asleep or at other times too? Has she had an EEG?

Its hard to explain, its like a jerking motion. Its almost the way i'd imagine an adult would act if they had a urine infection or tummy ache or something like that, where you have pain or discomfort and your kind of bent over with it.
No its hard to pin point the trigger either it can be at bedtime, before during or after a bottle or food, nappy changes. Random also.

And no sorry she hasn't had an EEG as of yet.

Are you sure it’s not just trapped wind?
Have you shown videos to the doctors of her doing it and/or have they actually witnessed her doing it and agree it is unusual?
what do her arms do while it’s happening and does she appear confused or “out of it” during or afterwards?
And is she hitting all her developmental milestones?

Do you mean that she folds over? How have professionals seen it? Video or in person?

Did you introduce solids at 6mos? Have they tested for Celiac’s or dairy intolerance?
