Child fainted after face paint

Has anyone had the same thing happen… so last year some time my daughter had a face paint stencil thing on her arm at the coast, when they was pealing the stencil of she fainted we thought its cause it maybe pulled some of her hair out, she’s had loads of face paints since as when we was on holiday in June she had a face paint every night but then today my friend did her a face paints (she’s practing out) I took a photo she was fine then all of a sudden she said she had a head ache then she went blank, eyes rolled back to her head and she started to shake a bit. She was only out of it for a minute or so now she’s fine.

Has anyone ever had this? I will take her to the gp tomorrow but just wondering if it’s common? She hasn’t come out in a rash or anything.

Are they touching her head a lot? I've come across children who faint when they get their hair cut. Apparently it's a known thing. But definitely worth getting checked out with GP.

Sounds like a vaso vagal episode.

triggers are wierd. Next time she wants face paint or similar ask if she can lie down to avoid the fainting.

How old is she? Is she able to communicate how she is feeling before?

What paints did your friend use? Might be worth seeing if you can find the artist from last year on social media to see if there’s a connection (long shot but lots of the beach workers advertise on Facebook).

Does your dd have any allergies?

Sounds more like a seizure. Had she been standing for a long period??

Is she sub consciously holding her breath when being painted?

If she’s had loads of face paints in between and all been absolutely fine, could just be a coincidence and nothing to do with face painting

@Sleepasaurus shes 4 she was fine before was excited to have a face paint then she was going to soft play after, my friend did her a little Christmas tree on her cheek two weeks ago and she was fine but this time she had a butterfly that went over her eyes and cheeks.

I Got my timings wrong she had the stencil that caused her to faint in August and we went on holiday in the June forgot to mention she also had a stick on tattoo (ones with water) on her arm in October and she fainted then (didn’t shake)

My friend has something where random triggers can cause her to faint, one of hers is having her hair pulled (which as you can imagine was a nightmare for her in school once people found out). So you could be right about the arm hair pulling.

Definitely something for an actual doctor to look at though, there are lots of other things it could be that ought to be ruled out.

@Theonlyfatmiddleagedwomannotonmonjaro we asked her this and she said no she didn’t but she’s only 4 so she might of done
