My 16 month has started getting rashes/ hives after eating at first it was about half an hour after eating but now is instantly after eating he’s also getting a tingly tongue, his belly is also bloated. We’ve been to the doctors and they’ve referred to the hospital but not sure how long this will take we suspect it is a gluten/ wheat allergy.has anyone had anything similar? He had a viral infection the start of December and I’m not sure if this has brought it on as that’s when this started.

That must be worrying for you. Has the GP suggested keeping a diary of what food LO has and the symptoms?

I don’t know much about gluten allergy, although I would want LO testing fkr Coeliac. If they’ve had a virus though, has the GP mentioned the possibility of temporary lactose intolerance?

Around one in ten of all babies have CMPA so it’s probably worth reading this article from Allergy UK.

In fact Allergy UK are usually very good so even if you don’t think it’s CMPA it might be worth contacting them to talk through his symptoms and the referral Flowers

Cow’s Milk Allergy

Cow’s milk allergy is an abnormal response by the body’s immune system in which proteins in a food are recognised as a potential threat.

Yeah he had a virus at the end of November and then this started happening start of December. When he was around 2 months old he had bad reflux and was on omeprazole they tested for milk allergy but didn’t have one. He isn’t getting the reaction after his milk it seems to be after his food.
