Hi, we are looking to take our nine month to val thorens. We have been given the OK by our doctor but wanted to know if anyone else had experience of taking their baby to this altitude? (2300)

Have taken 6 month old to the upper part of Tignes - not quite as high, I know, but no ill-effects. Would adapt pretty quickly, I think.

Make sure the baby drinks a lot.

2300m ? People do live this high with babies. Unless baby has a known lung condition i can’t imagine an issue

Have taken babies to ski resorts and never even considered this might be an issue! Never had any problems or noticed any difference in them.

High factor sunscreen and good warm outer clothing/layers. Remember babies are not moving much and can feel colder. Also their ears may pop and feel uncomfortable.
