Hi,
my 19 month old daughter is not yet standing without holding anything or walking- she crawls extremely fast (since 13 months), can climb within reason and get herself off the sofa (since 17 months, she’s a tiny dot so a lot of furniture is too tall for her at the moment!) and cruises confidently a range of surfaces sometimes just with her belly not hands (since 14 months).
we are under a paediatrician for genetic testing due to FTT (born off the charts small, has followed her own little curve with the exception of teething and illness but bounces back on). They said they’d expect her to be walking but haven’t referred for physio. Trying to catch the HV to ask for a referral too - next paeds appointment is early March.
she does have glue ear (just crossing from mild to moderate) from back to back colds so has hearing aids as our area doesn’t accept grommets referral until 2, I know this can affect balance?
other development seems ok, not yet talking but since having hearing aids we’ve quickly moved from babbling to trying to say words and saying mama etc and gestures are catching up now.
anyway - any PT exercises or social media accounts with videos you could reccomend? I’m wondering if the mixture of glue ear and being quite small might mean her muscles aren’t the strongest so I’d like to help her while waiting for a physio referral.
thanks in advance x
