We've all been hit in the household by the awful cold and cough that seems to be going around. DS had a low grade temp of around 38 on Sunday and Monday, accompanied by the snotty nose etc. it then disappeared by Tuesday but he's still been miserable and blocked to, but the temperature returned again yesterday along with the thick running snot. Should I be concerned the temperature went away again and then came back? I feel horrendous myself with a barking cough and slight temperature. everything I've read says if temperature is there after 5 days to get them checked out but it went and then returned?

Hopefully should just be this day then it will go

Thanks @Ros2891 - I suffer with health anxiety and it's made me worry that it's returned.

I'm the same i always overthink but kids get ill all the time

I’d seek antibiotics as it sounds like a bacterial infection.

Loads of kids at our children's nursery had a horrible virus (maybe flu?) in the last weeks of term and nearly all of them had this - fever which went after a few days, a day where they seemed better and then a fever which returned for another few days. Our baby got it too and the same happened. Go to the GP to rule anything out if you're worried, but it does seem to be a symptom of this virus going round at the moment.

@TBC45678 thanks very much for this, that's made me feel a bit better. I've felt utterly lousy since Saturday with it too, just an awful cough and breathing but no temp for me.
