Dd is 13, had flu nasal spray 12 days ago and has been unwell since school nurse and dr think this is unrelated but thought worth mentioning. She’s had a ‘6’ on pain scale rated headache with dizziness, lightheadedness and feeling sick, she’s lost her appetite and falls asleep several times a day. Gp saw her last Thursday and said her blood pressure was low and they want bloods which are being done next week. I’ve called gp again today to ask if they can be brought forward somehow as she’s not improving and I was basically dismissed. She is usually so active and happy now she really quiet and lethargic. Anyone have any advice or experienced similar? Thank you

Could be the flu. I had the flu around 10 years ago and it wiped me out for 2.5 weeks. I had similar symptoms along with cough, cold, fever and shaking constantly

Thank you for your reply, we thought it could be but she doesn’t have any of those typical flu symptoms which has made this even more bizarre, her temperature is also fine

You can usually book quicker blood tests at nearby hospitals which is quicker than at gp. Maybe phone the gp and ask for them to email the blood test details and go on your local hospital trust and book on there

I am sorry to hear about your DD its awful as a parent to watch your little one feel so unwell. I have a similar issue with my DS ever since he had the flu spray he has complained of headaches, had nausea and has been off balance. I'm pro vaccines and it is likely a coincidence but definitely worth noting. It has now been 2 months since his vaccine and we are still no better! He had a brief 2 week period in November where his symptoms resolved and now it is worse than ever. He has an MRI scheduled for tomorrow due to the ongoing concerns.

Could be anaemia from those symptoms. Does she have heavy periods? There are lots of bugs going around at this time of year. Have you ruled out covid?
