When will these baby flu symptoms end?!

I have a 7 month old EBF baby who currently has the flu. He was so so ill the first few days but now 6 days in he’s been better during the day and worse at night (as we all generally are when we’re ill). Every night he’s coughing so much he’s being sick his milk and hasn’t been feeding as much in the night either. Has anyone else had or currently got a baby with flu? I don’t even know what im asking just how long has it lasted and any tips for the lingering cough that’s unsettling him so much.
we have had to be downstairs with him for the last 6 nights and have not been able to put him down in his cot. I feel so sorry for him but my back is in absolute bits and he was never a great sleeper im the first place and now I’m panicking we will never get him back on his cot after so many nights 😩😩

I'd put a mattress on the floor and safely bedshare with him following lullaby trust guidelines until you are all better. It's taken me over two weeks to get close to normal and I'm still coughing up crap. My little one is on week 3 and still not right. It's a long ride so make it as easy for yourself as possible and deal with the cot later on. Good luck.
