Something seriously wrong with my 13 months baby

Mums, advice please 🤍

My daughter is 13 months and doesn’t vomit or spit up anymore, but I’ve noticed that if I give her milk too soon after a meal, she starts coughing/choking like something comes back up. It sounds uncomfortable but never ends in vomiting.

If I space milk 2 hours after meals or 1 hour before, she’s totally fine. I still breastfeed on demand, so sometimes I give in when she’s upset and that’s usually when the coughing happens.

Is this normal in toddlers, or something anyone else has experienced? I have other kids with GI/reflux issues so I’m a bit worried.

Thanks 🤍

I’m not sure there’s anything seriously wrong, what makes you think that? It does sound like reflux. Has she seen a doctor?

GreyCloudsLooming · 14/12/2025 12:47

Why do you think it’s something serious? It doesn’t sound it. Maybe you just need to stop giving her milk too soon after a meal. Maybe you are over-feeding her.

I give small portion meal. She never had reflux as a baby, completely healthy!

this only occur when milk was soon after meal.

Have you taken her to the doctors?

She's probably just a bit full up with all the milk and the meal, her tummy is probably quites still. It doesn't sound like there is anything wrong with her. Have you never had gastric reflux after overeating? It will reduce as she grows. Just stop giving milk after a meal.

This stopped since the post and today I gave her oat meal at 9am, then she requested some pastry I was eating so I gave her small amount.
we came home 10:15 and I gave her slice of watermelon and she keeps regurgitating
is this too much 🥲
