15 months non stop old cough at night - help!

My 15 months old is coughing all night. Please help me ease my mind, he doesn’t show any alarming signs like shortness of breath and doesn’t cough up blood, he’ll be ok until I can phone the GP in the morning, right? He can cough for 10 seconds non stop, or a cough every 5-10 seconds. I’ve tried infant coughing syrup but it didn’t help. He also had warm milk.
He had a little bit coughing for the past three days but nothing dramatic and since yesterday he also has a running nose. Is there anything else I can do, it breaks my heart hearing him coughing non stop.

Honey works well to soothe coughs, just check you can give it to him as I’m sure after 1 you can but double check.

Prop him up when he’s sleeping. It’s the season unfortunately. It’s most likely viral so don’t stress however absolutely take him to the dr so they can check for infection just in case.

Try rubbing vixs on his feet and putting a rolled up towel under his mattress so hes not laid flat. Coughs are worse at nighttime because we lay flat and the body relaxes.
