Hey all, my baby was born with a slight lump behind her ear, and it’s caused her left ear to stick out “very noticeable” at her 6 week check up the DR said it was fine and she will grow in to it so it’s not as noticeable, they referred my daughter over to a paediatrician, and yesterday was her appointment, well at the appointment she said she has swelling behind her ear, and will make an appointment for a head head, but my daughter will be sedated for it as they will need her still as possible, anyway…. I asked questions if it’s serious, what it could be, and she didn’t give me no answers at all, she said she can’t tell me anything until my daughter has had the head scan, I’m googling all sorts and it’s very hard to not google it! I’m so scared and don’t know what to expect?? Any one else had this? Been in this situation? Any advice? 😭

My dc had a swelling on their neck it was a cavernous hemangioma. They had to ultrasound to make sure it wasn't an avm. They said that it would be unnoticeable at ten years old which proved right.

It doesnt sound serious to be honest. The doctor didnt show any hard concern, so it cannot be that bad. I would keep checking with the doctor. If in doubt. All the best.

My nephew had something like this. Like a hard boiled egg under his skin, it originally pushed his ear into a strange position, but as he grew it completely resolved. No sign of it now as a 16 year old, whatever it was.
