My son has a dark brown birthmark on the nape of his make which he was born with. He has longish hair so it cannot be seen unless you lift his hair back. Tonight he was sat eating his tea and said he had ‘spots’ I looked and it’s all raised almost represents tiny blisters. Waiting for a call back from 111 to put my mind at ease but I’m wondering if anyone has experienced anything like this??

thanks in advance

Even the consultant dermatologists can’t always say what’s going on with marks and moles. I had a similar one on my back, which the GP didn’t like the look off. The consultant also didn’t like it and my notes said query malignant melanoma. In the end, it was removed, tested and was found to be completely normal.

Get a referral to a consultant dermatologist, who will know exactly what to do. 111 won’t have a clue.
