What is this rash?

DS has had red patches on both cheeks for over 6 months now. The redness fluctuates – some days it’s mild, other days it’s really noticeable. Recently it’s definitely got worse.

GP said it could be eczema but wasn’t sure. We were prescribed Cetraben, but it hasn’t helped at all.

Has anyone had anything similar with their DC? Did anything in particular help, or should I go back and ask for a different cream?

could it be rosacea?

It looks quite similar to my little ones cheeks, he gets quite dry skin from time to time we were told to use an oat based cream. I think zeroveen and an emoilent were what we were prescribed they seem to have worked ok.

My LO is similar, been told it’s eczema but we did allergy testing and it does flare up with food she tested mildly positive for.

We’ve been told to keep the food in in small amounts if this is the extent of the reaction, so that might help you narrow it down! For us, eggs, peanuts and some fish cause it to happen.

But also high histamine foods like tomato (which she is not allergic to).

Also try an antihistamine as well as the creams
