Is this chicken pox?!

My 5 year DD has come out in some spots, they started on her belly as a small cluster about a week ago, didn’t think much of it at first as she does have sensitive skin and occasionally gets things like that. She now has clusters on her legs, back of her knees and under her bum which came out over the weekend. Some look like small blisters. They are a bit itchy but not excessively so, otherwise completely well in herself, no other symptoms at all. None on her hands, feed, mouth, face or groin. She has been fully vaccinated for chicken pox as a baby so I’m really unsure! I’m not particularly worried either way as I say she’s well in herself I guess I just don’t know if she should be off school or not! Could it just be a reaction to something. She has a 2 year old brother who has no spots.

Could it be Hand Foot and Mouth? Especially if her trunk is clear of spots.

Thanks for replying. We’ve had HFM 3 or 4 times over the two kids. It doesn’t look like that in my opinion, absolutely nothing on the hands feet or genitals (which in my experience it tends to hit pretty hard). She’s also very well. Previously with HFM she’s been feeling pretty rubbish. And she does have spots on her abdomen. It’s completely localised to back of her legs and abdomen. Non at the front of her legs. Very strange. If it wasn’t for the fact she’s fully vaccinated and is completely well, I would swear it looks like a mild case of chicken pox! I suppose I’m wondering if it is infact CP and it’s just pretty mild because of the vaccination, so wondering if anyone has had a child who has had the vaccine but still later got chickenpox!

I’ll be pretty pissed off if it is chicken pox and I’ve went to the bother of getting the vaccination privately and end up needing to take time off work and school and all the inconvenience that comes with that! And in typical second child fashion we haven’t got round to getting our youngest vaccinated yet. It’s on the to do list!

I would guess this is chicken pox but really mild due to the vaccine. If you have the service I would submit a photo to your gp online service and ask them what they think. For what it’s worth my kids had all the vaccines and still got both mumps and measles .

It looks a lot like a friend's vaccinated child who had chicken pox - they were fine in themselves, not too bothered by it, and it did clear up quite quickly in that case.
