My child don’t breathe while talking

when Ds talks, he often sounds like he can’t breathe properly, he stops mid sentence to burp or take a deep breath. It sometimes happens after eating. Could this be a sign of something else like a breathing or speech issue?
he is 6 years old. It doesn’t happen often but I keep noticing it a lot !

Talking involves breathing because you have to breathe out while speaking. And you have to take breaths to carry on talking. Are they long sentences?

Would this be due to mouth breathing rather than nose breathing do you think?

Yes definitely due to mouth breathing. If he blows in ballon’s or chew gums or sing he will choke because it’s like he holds his breath from the nose and he loses mouth and it’s like using his belly muscle. I am not sure what’s going on exactly and it always follow a burp
