3 year old not eating

Hey, so my son is almost 4. He goes to nursery part time. He’s a very good boy, genuinely has a kind heart. He will eat waffle, pancakes or porridge etc no fruit. He’ll eat it plain or sweet. BUT lunch or dinner wise I am literally losing it. Last night for example we had a chicken roast. The night before we had a cottage pie. And the night before that we had a lasagne. He won’t touch any of it.

I refuse to cook him the only thing he will eat a little of which are chips with ketchup.

I get him to sit with us at the table every night and eat what we eat but he’s just chewing his first mouthful so long that it turns into runny mush and he spits it up (gagging as if he’ll throw up but doesn’t)

he also does this thing at home that he expect me to feed him like a little baby. I kid you not he is more than capable of feeding himself when snacks come around.

I went to the doctors and they told me to just feed him the chocolate if that’s what he wants and I refuse to give in. I just can’t accept the fact that a 3 year old is walking all over me. I make a homemade meal every day and he won’t touch it.

he also doesn’t touch sandwiches or sausage rolls or pizza or nuggets etc.

has anyone had a fussy eater and it so how did you overcome this?!

any help please

He's not walking all over you, it's pretty standard for all the effort to go unappreciated with small ones. I would try healthy snacks if he'll eat those, and not put too much pressure on mealtimes.
