Forceful hiccups after stomach bugs?

he is making forceful hiccups frequently during the day and they seem so painful. It happened after Norovirus ?

Can you teach him diaphragmatic breathing like yoga breathing.
I get times when I burp constantly after food and found a website online which said to do this breathing for several minutes before eating. It worked. Also it is relaxing.
