What do people think?
he has got no other symptoms, woke up with this cluster of blisters on the back of one hand that’s it.
He says it’s sore to touch.
He has maybe had a slight runny nose for a few days

Is this HFM or Chicken Pox?

Looks more like hfm to me

Bobbybobbins · 27/10/2025 14:38

Yeah looks like hfm. I guess you will be able to confirm depending on where it spreads to. My DS had it around his bottom as well randomly though.

Purpleandgreenyarn · 27/10/2025 14:41

I’m not sure that looks like either. Of the two you would think hand foot and mouth, but I’m not a doctor so can’t say for sure.
Could you pop to pharmacy and see what they think?
Aside from calpol there is no treatment for HFM. As far as I know, the spots shouldn’t be itch/sore unless in the mouth.

Thanks.. yes well he’s had HFM before and it didn’t look like that but I thought it could be different each time. Could be chicken pox perhaps. Will see how it looks in the morning it’s not really
bothered him today other than him saying it was sore once

That’s not chickenpox, they are reddy brown when they first appear

ImFineItsAllFine · 27/10/2025 21:17

It doesn't look like either to me?

Also with HFM mine both had a raging temperature.

wombpaloumpba · 19/11/2025 20:44

no idea what it was but it also appeared on his neck and then went away after 2 days. Never had a temperature or said it was sore 🤷‍♀️
