Hi all
my 3 year old had to have a couple of teeth out on Wednesday just gone under a general.

where the teeth have come out there was like a red/purple dot on the gum which i think is the clotting/healing process but today i’ve noticed one of those has turned a green/yellow colour so i’m panicking. She is absolutely fine no temperature or signs of illness, and the gum doesn’t look red or swollen etc but is this an infection? I have tried to attach a pic but its saying its too big 😩😩 Thank you

Hi! Its likely just the healing process. Sockets can look nasty when healing. I wouldn't worry about it unless accompanied by pain, fever or swelling. It is likely to be sore for the next 2 weeks so monitor it and maintain good oral hygiene and Calpol if necessary x

Thank you ☺️
the following day when i looked the green/yellow thing had come away so i’m wondering if it was the clot that had changed colour or something as part of the healing process. She’s been absolutely fine no temperature etc so it can’t have been an infection but it worried me seeing it as the first thing you think is infection when you see green/yellow at a wound site.
