Hernia or outie

Hey my son has been saying his belly button hurts, his tummy button is a outie and I was told when he was a baby it wasn’t a hernia but now I’m doubting myself..he’s four and a half

Nah I think that's just normal but maybe he's been poking at it. You can maybe get a cotton buds and wet it, clean inside the button and see if there's any stuff building up in it or infection etc
