hi all. Sorry to be so graphic but just needed a little guidance on poop color? Our little one is 12 months old and poop this last 48 hours has been a lighter than usual color for her. I just wanted to ensure it’s not on the light side of concern as I know that can be liver related? I’m hoping it’s more diet as a quick search mentioned diets with high dairy (milk etc) can increase lightness of stools?

any opinions, thoughts or guidance would be truly appreciated

thanks

I had this exact issue (also at 12 months when I switched to cows milk). I found it was more pale, the more milk they had. I ummed an ahhed so many times about going to the GP but didn't in the end because she was otherwise fine.

Basically after a couple of months, the poos just went brown again and never had an issue since.

The only other thing that makes poo go this pale in my experience is after they've had a stomach bug, and they have pale poos for a day or two.

But trust your instincts and if you are worried go to your GP.
