Fungal nail

My son has 2 nails on his foot that have a fungal infection. On the second type of treatment from doctors and it's not doing anything. The doctor said we might not have much luck as it's hard to penetrate the nail with topical medicines and he's too young for the medicine used to treat that you ingest.

Has anyone else had this with their chil and did it eventually clear up? Or were they able to treat it when they were older?

One of the nails has started to curl and it's very sore for him whenever I need to cut it feel like a rotten mum that I can do anything for it.

Unlikely it’ll work and the ingested medication has loads of side effects.
