22mo sudden screams

I'm a bit bemused with this one.

A handful of times this fortnight DD has been happily playing or pottering about when she's suddenly screamed inconsolably, like if she's trapped her finger. Really upset.

The first couple of times I assumed I'd missed something, but today she did it when walking beside me and I'm sure nothing specific happened.

After a minute and a cuddle she's back to normal.

I mentioned to DH and he said she's done the exact same thing 3 times this week with him.

If I ask where it hurts she's said Head or Hair a few times, but her words aren't great, so I've not gotten her to explain anything.

Could it be teething? Or ear ache?

She's normal in every other aspect, not even snotty at the moment! Pooing as usual, good appetite....

Dc1 never did this :/

Has anyone experienced similar? :(

Final hopeful bump.

She did it again today and held her head for a couple of seconds.

ChatGPT is saying ice pick headaches but I can't find any reports in a kiddy so young :(

It’s probably absolutely nothing to worry about. I would just watch out for other unusual behaviour or health changes, or if gets any worse. But don’t jump to any conclusions, children do random things all the time and grow out of it quite quickly.

Oh @Forflipsakethank you for replying. It's such a sensible answer and what I needed to read. You're probably right and I'm going to try not to worry. I have booked a gp appointment as she did it again. I'm hoping it passes soon xx
