Hi, wondered if anyone else has dealt with this and at what point do we ask for more help.

less gruesome photo was yesterday, other one today. Is on antibiotics as of yesterday. Hasn’t seen a GP, but had a phone consultation.

No temperature, finger is warm to touch. Has been using warm salt water and nurofen.

Any tips?

Stick a needle in it and let it drain.

Gosh @familyissues12345that has gotten a lot worse in one day!! I would definitely get that seen in the morning - GP and if you have any difficulties seeing a GP then minor injuries.

I would draw a line around the red area now to see if it changes and if the redness increases, or you see any sign of ‘tracking’ (red lines coming off the wound) then I would get him seen tonight. Ditto if he develops a temp. Ouch!!

Ouch that looks sore! I’ve got one at the moment too, I got magnesium sulphate paste from the chemist but it didn’t seem to do much, so have been putting tea tree oil on it which I think is helping somewhat. Mine is just red though, I think it’s worth getting that looked at asap, definitely needs draining. Hope it heals up well

Thanks everyone. The temptation to give it a prod is real, but I don’t think it’s a great idea

I’m going to contact the GP in the morning, I’ve drawn a line around the redness and he’s under strict instructions to shout if he feels unwell

@begone25weve been using magnesium sulfate too, recommended that by a pharmacist on Sunday but it’s done bugger all
