Lump in neck

Hi
my dd is 13 and has felt a lump in her neck. It is just below her ear and behind her jaw, on her neck. It feels small, about the size of a large pea. I am thinking it’s a lymph node but am still sick with worry. She’s not been ill, though did have a mild infection in her two month old lobe piercing on that side last week. Looking for reassurance. Will take her to GP if it is still there on Monday.

You could be right about infection causing lymph nodes to enlarge. My DS had lumps in neck a few times all through his teens, he has asthma, GP did do blood tests on him just to make sure sure all was good, they did take a while to go, not helped by him constantly touching them.

Like you, I would assume a lymph node, especially as it is close to the ear piercing. I would do the same thing as you plan to do, just get it checked out on Monday if it's still there.

Hi

Did it disappear? x

Yes it did. So we assume it was a lymph node. Thanks xx
