Hydrocele Operation?

Hi all, my six year old is having an operation next week. Does anyone know what the realistic recovering time will be? Going back to school, walking comfortably, riding his bike, swimming and playing football.

I don’t have experience of a hydrocele operation but my 4 year old had a hernia repair in his groin which is similar. He was up and bouncing around same day, bed rest was a nightmare and although he was meant to avoid strenuous exercise for 4-6 weeks (and we tried our best) he was running and his usual self very quickly. He was off nursery for a week but tbh could have gone back sooner.

Should add it was longer for swimming as the bandages didn’t fall off for almost 18 days so we didn’t go swimming for about 5/6 weeks probably.

Thank you. I’m just trying to plan time off work, activities you know normal stuff and getting him prepared for some restful days.

His operation is Thursday I was hoping he would be okay to go back to school the following Tuesday maybe Wednesday. Then two weeks later he has a school trip that involves a lot of walking / playgrounds so was wondering if he could do that.

Based on my son, he absolutely could do this and I think the hernia operation is a bit more complex. But guess it depends on the child / how he responds to everything. But my son was doing star jumps and rolling around within 24 hours of surgery (despite my best attempts to keep him sitting down)
