Reflux?

Hi, my baby is now 5 months old and from approx 1 week old, has been incredibly sicky. Pyloric stenosis was ruled out early on but was considered on a number of occasions due to the force of the vomiting. There seems to be no rhyme or reason for when he is sick, sometimes it is immediately after a feed, sometimes during, sometimes an hour later etc. He is exclusively breastfeed and on the 90th percentile so weight gain is not an issue. He was prescribed infant gaviscon however struggles to take this via a bottle and is quite often sick from gagging on the teat. When he has managed to take it, it doesn’t seem to make any difference aside from making him constipated. Often when he is sick, he will do 2 or 3 large ‘fountains’ of sick followed by a minute or so of retching until his stomach is empty. This is awful to watch and despite always being ok afterwards, he will have tears from the retching. The contents seem to be watery milk, sometimes curdled if it has been a while since a feed and it has also been yellow on occasion. He is very fussy in general, he will settle if being held upright but isn’t a fan of the carrier/sling so it’s impossible to carry him around all day everyday. I know reflux is very common and babies tend to grow out of it in time but this seems to be getting worse and feels extreme. I dread going out and risking it happening in public/in the car, the washing machine is constantly running and I feel like it is taking all of the enjoyment out of the lovely baby stage. Does this sound like normal reflux and when is it likely to ease or does it sound like something else that I can discuss with the gp?

It could be, both my boys had it and it started to get better around their 1st birthday. We used Omeprazol and it really helped. Gaviscon had no effect on them. We also used carobel. Good luck, it's awful but does pass 💐
