My little boy is 9 weeks old and he still looks a little bit yellowish on his skin and his eyes, he’s had 2 previous blood tests and we were never called with the results, my health visitor has had to chase them up for me and now the registrar wants him back out to another hospital for repeat bloods, shes saying that she should not look yellow at all at 9 weeks old, should I be worried on why they want more bloods or is this a normal thing to do? How long did it take your little ones jaundice to completely go? His first lot of bloods they did tell us that his results were normal for liver etc just the level for him being yellowe or something were still high but never been told any other results. He is breastfed only

While I think repeat bloods are a good idea, there is something called Breast Milk jaundice or physiological jaundice. It starts around week 1 or 2, and can persist up to 12 weeks.

Generally these babies feed well, gain weight, normal nappy outputs - does this all sound familiar?

We don't know why this happens, but it can be normal. Get the blood tests done but also read up on this type of jaundice.
