My child is 2 years old
Since about 7 months old he has been experiencing swollen eyes , random bouts .
he has had Alex testing and it came back as dust allergy . I made major changes in my home and have spent over £400 on buying things to help .
However
As of recent his eyes have been swelling more often . It’s a very sudden swelling he also becomes wheezy
i rush him to a&e and they seem to give completely different answers every single time
-water retention
-eye infection
most recent - “some sort of food allergy “

he also has asthma , trachealmalacia , subglottic stenosis , VSD , Heart Murmur
4 Ventilated Comas

im absolutely consumed with panic .My local a&e when I take him in just say we will refer him back to allergy team but there is a wait list .

has anyone’s child experienced anything like this ? Was it an allergy , if so what to ?

Eyes like that plus wheezing definitely suggest an allergy, especially as he's asthmatic. I'd keep harassing people until they speed up your referral.

That’s what I thought , I’ve spent all day calling , he has a respiratory specialist appointment in the morning so I will be mentioning it in that appointment aswell . I’m just so not comfortable with not having for sure answers , I’ve been watching him for days like a hawk , haven’t slept properly since his last episode of swelling

Do you have pets?

A&E won't sort out his eyes, although he obviously needs to go there if he is struggling to breathe.

You need to ask for a referral to ophthalmology.

My son has asthma; the only time his eyes swelled up like that was due to pollen - but it's really the wrong time of year for most pollen. However, if by recently you mean the last couple of weeks, then ivy is full in flower and of course it is a very common plant everywhere.
