Elbow injury and swimming

DD5 fell at school on Friday and came home with a grazed elbow. She was using the arm fine and didn't seem to be in pain but on Saturday morning it became apparent that she couldn't straighten it properly. DH took her to minor injuries where they x rayed it, confirmed nothing broken, and by the time she actually got to see the Dr she could straighten it again 🙄 Dr said it was a soft tissue injury and to rest it. She does acrobatics so shouldn't go to her lessons or turn cartwheels for 2 weeks. Fine.

Nothing was said about swimming, and DH (who is IMHO extremely risk averse re DD's health) doesn't want her to go to her swimming lesson this evening. AIBU to say that she should? She's using it fine. Can straighten it and not in pain at all. The graze will need covering obviously.

Interested in outside opinions as DH and I often disagree with these kind of issues!

I used swimming as rehab after a broken elbow. I reckon she'll be fine and it might help to get it moving again. I'd mention it to the teacher though as your DD needs to be in control of how much she does with it. Don't want teacher pushing her if it's hurting.

Exercising in water is relatively gentle in comparison to cartwheels etc.!

I wouldn’t bother covering the graze if she does swim but I’d also follow her lead on this one. If it was bad enough fog minor injuries yesterday and she wants to give swimming a miss, I would. However, if she wants to go it then I’d let her but give the instructor the heads up.
