Hi all, I’m putting out feelers to see if anyone else is struggling with helping their child manage Pollakiuria (Frequent urination). My son, aged 8, has been having the urge to wee every 10 minutes since April this year (it’s now October) and it has impacted his daily life, limited activities and made him reluctant to travel. GP has examined him, no physical issues as such, no UTI or glucose in urine. Occasionally he’ll be constipated but we do give him plenty of fibre to help this.
He had a panic attack needing a wee whilst in a car on holiday in April and since then his urge has escalated. We have a travel pee bottle, we go places where loos are easy access. Back at school, new Teacher, open minded and helpful thankfully. But am concerned his bladder will be so small - we’ve tried to help him “retrain his bladder” to hold for longer, with rewards, but it doesn’t seem to work yet. 30 mins maximum, but then back to 10 mins again.
Is there anyone out there who can offer tips and suggestions we’ve not tried. Please? TIA.
