Sudden itchy rash - allergy? Shingles? Bed bugs? Help!

DD (6) has a rash which has appeared on her torso just under ribs. Noticed it today, she says it appeared yesterday and she forgot(!) to tell me. Is itchy so one spot is broken when she’s scratched it.

Absolutely no other symptoms. Debating whether to see what happens between now and Monday or a 111 call.

Thoughts? Anyone had similar? Grateful for any advice/experience you can share!

Looks like shingles to me (both DC had rash in same place), and if she gets seen quickly she can take antivirals to make it easier and quicker to recover. I'd call 111 for this one

That looks like a shingles rash.

I should also add monday will be too late for antivirals. You need to be seen today.

Thanks. I’ve gone on 111 online and it went to a nurse callback so now waiting on that!

Just can’t believe how ‘fine’ she seems in herself! I’ve had shingles myself and felt horrendous. Maybe different for kiddos though.

Update: Saw a GP today and working diagnosis is shingles and started on antivirals. Still ok in herself though getting quite tired.

Rash is starting to blister this evening so think it’s probably a correct diagnosis, bless her. Just hoping it stays mild 🤞🙏

Hope she gets better soon! My DD was fine with it, DS found it more painful so hopefully your DD has a milder virus
