Whilst I was bathing my baby this evening. I noticed a faint bruise on his back. Let me start by saying although he isn’t quite crawling, he is extremely active, he rolls all over the place non-stop.

My first thought it was rolling onto a toy or into furniture if we haven’t caught him on time as he is super quick.

but now he is in bed I’m started to let my health anxiety get the better of me and I’ve gone down a rabbit hole and now thinking of the worst. I think I’m going to make a doctors appointment for the morning but for now I guess I’m just looking for reassurance or stories or when your crazy rolling babies have maybe got a bruise too?

thanks in advance x

The worst as in what? That he's unwell or that someone has hurt him? What shape is the bruise and is it blue or brown?

That’s he’s unwell. It’s a normal shaped bruise I suppose, round ish. It’s quite faint, almost grey?

Children get bruises. Mobile baby’s get bruises. What you need is help with your anxiety, because and I mean this kindly you cannot take your child to the GP every time they get a bruise, you’ll be there every week. Think about it logically do you go the GP if you have a bruise? Where has this anxiety stemmed from?

You’re right. My health aniexty stems from my mum having leukaemia whilst I was young - bruising being her first sign. My first born son being in NICU with brain damage during birth, and last year, my dad dying of cancer whilst half way through my second pregnancy. I’m aware I need to seek help for this. I get very triggered very easily and I do spiral. I can’t differentiate a genuine concern or my aniexty getting the better of me. Thank you
