Just wondering what this is in my 8 year old's armpit. Heat rash or skin irritation?

Bumping for you. I wouldn't think heat rash though. Keep it clean and dry as much as possible.

Maybe try dabbing either a little hydrocortisone cream in case an eczema type of rash or clotrimazole like canesten in case it is fungal.

The photo is quite blurry, but could it be a bite? If so, hydrocortisone again would help, or anthisan antihistamine cream.

Hydrocortisone or antihistamine should help with itchiness in any event.

A pharmacy would be my first choice if none of the above helped.

Watch out for further lesions or other symptoms like a fever, and 111 (if in England) is a great resource.

I'd say mosquito bite and it's not uncommon to get them in your armpits because mosquitos are attracted by the smell of sweat. I would treat with antisan bite and sting cream and get some natural deodorant if it keeps happening/your dc is starting to smell a bit.

Thank you both.

Yes, I think probably mosquito bite after a trip to the Northumberland coast!
