Hi all 👋 I was just wondering if anyone had any remedies for a post Covid cough? My DD had Covid this week is now negative and feel so much better except this cough she has. It’s literally keeping her up at night, and she’s up early coughing with it then won’t go back to sleep. She’s 12. She is due to start high school tomorrow after not being able to start last week and I can hear her still coughing through the wall. She’s got a big bottle of water, her pillows are propped up. She’s tried cough medicine, hot honey and lemon, hot blackcurrant juice but it’s actually getting worse. Yesterday she said her chest was a bit sore from it and sounds a bit crackly at times. It’s definitely more when lying down, and if she’s walking etc she’s so exhausted from it. Any advice would be great. I will be trying to get her checked by the GP but I’m sure they will say it’s part of the package of having Covid.

Manuka Honey, 2 spoonfuls a day (AM & PM)

Cam she take some warm ginger or lemon tea in a thermos to school? She can sip it when her throat is sore. You can end up with a cough that's essentially self- perpetuating due to inflammation after a virus. Ibuprofen or paracetamol also worth a go.
