Screaming!

Does anyone else have a child (mine is 19 months old) that has never cried normally and just resorts to screaming every time they’re upset?

she has done this since birth and I have honestly never known anything like it! She doesn’t know how to cry ‘normally’ and it’s so draining and stressful!

Are there tears when she scream? If so I think that is the way she cries! Mine 2 had very different cries for different things, sad, over tired, physical pain, fear, anger etc and I could see quite clear differences but i have always shouted and protested a lot rather than sobbing when I upset, when I was little I used to beg and beg for my mum louder and louder, tears but definite screaming - my Gma says it was the worst thing ever so I think I was like your DD! I'm fine now and very resilient if that helps at all! 😬

@defrazzled there are so it’s definitely just when she’s not impressed with something! I can tell the difference between pain cries etc and just frustration/attention. She can verbalise how she’s feeling to an extent too as in if I ask her she’ll either say yes or no. I’m hoping she’ll grow up to be resilient like you and it’s all just part of a strong personality!

she’s my 3rd of 3 children and I’ve never experienced it before but she is also my only girl! ☺️
