Bruise on nail from injury

My LO dropped part of a drawer (not from height) onto his big toe today. It has bruised the nail bed but he has been wiggling his toe fine, playing football in the garden fine etc afterwards. He is saying it's sore but not the toe itself just the nail. Had anybody else had similar and what happened?

I have iced and elevated, thank you!

Yep! The bruise usually grows out with the nail.

Not a child but I slammed my little finger in a drawer the other week. If everything works - ie toes wiggling not pain there it's just a case of letting the bruise grow out as @Cyclistmumgrandma says. My nail was a bit sore when I pressed on it for a few days , but that's gone. I would say it's aesthetics from here on in 😊 Personally I think it's fine

But I'm not a doctor so if you are more worried do ask someone better qualified.
