Seeing glitter

just wondering if anyone has any advice on something quite unusual.

Our 4 year old daughter randomly one day started saying she could ‘see rainbow glitter’. We took her to the optician which found she has a really high prescription and also high astigmatism.

She got her new glasses and didn’t really seem to mention it much again, but said she could sometimes still see it in the dark.

Yesterday we collected her new prescription and she is saying she can see it again. See describes it as rainbow glitter or tiny rainbow circles 🤷‍♀️

Does anyone have any ideas or advice?

I presume that the optician did a very thorough set of tests. Did you tell the optician what she said?
Does she see it all the time of just sporadically?
Google suggests various possibilities including migraine aura.
I would be heading back to the optician pronto.

Back to the optician.

It could be the astigmatism, mine is mild but it makes somethings blurry and at night I get streaks of lights.

Google ‘visual snow’ - could that possibly be what she means?

Go to GP. Get her bloods done. I see sparkles when I’m low on iron

In my case it was vitreous detachment, but that wouldn’t be the case in someone so young.

Yes, she had her eyes dilated and checked initially 6 months ago when we first went, and then checked again when we went for her follow up eye exam and new prescription. He said the back of her eye looked healthy 🤷‍♀️
