4 year old snores so loudly!

Wondering if I should be worried or not?

My son (4.5 years old) recently started snoring at night. It’s so loud that I can hear it from 2 doors down in the house! Today I even went in and rolled him from his back to his front as it was so noisy! Also potentially unrelated but he seems to struggle to hear me sometimes… like I can be sat right next to him and ask him something and he doesn’t respond at all - it’s like he genuinely didn’t hear me! Or if I ask him something further away he often asks again and again what I said. I always assumed he was just ignoring me, but now wondering if it’s something more…

Worth a trip to the doctors or am I just overthinking things?!

Has he recently had a cold? Sounds like congestion causing snoring and maybe ears a bit blocked too. How long has it been?

Yip def worth going to GP.
This was my son 3 months ago- had his very enlarged adenoids and tonsils out and now I have to double check him when he’s asleep as he is so quiet now!
I also think he sleeps better now and within 1 week of surgery he became dry at night.

i think you should ask to see ENT but in the NHS this is very low priority so I’d go private (we did) if you can afford.

of course, I’m not saying this is what may be needed for your child, however it does sound very similar (although my son had recurrent tonsillitis too). Either way an ENT consultant will make their own assessment and advise accordingly. Good luck.
