My mum was accused of FII for my brother who was aspirating all of his feeds. All went into his lungs. They accused her of removing his NG tube when she was not in the room as well... the mind boggles. Brother is now 13 with severe cerebral palsy and chronic lung disease that we are aware was made even more complicated due to the absence of treatment. Was aspirating for around 4 months and constantly turned blue.

He's now not predicted to live past 18 purely due to his chest

Thank you. Currently going down medical negligence for other reasons (they failed to action a knowingly very high co2 level leading to a respiratory arrest) but it’s always a gut puncher to realise that his life expectancy would have been better if they had taken her seriously. Thankfully in a new area now where we have an amazing team of doctors who understand that we know him best, but also guide us in making the complex decisions
