I'm not normally one for panicking, but I'm really concerned about the measels outbreak.

I have a 6 month old baby , who was born 9 weeks prem and a 5 year old DS. My 5 year old is fully vaccinated but I'm worried about the baby.

We live in a city where there is an outbreak and a poor child has just died from it in the local hospital. Would you try and keep the baby at home which will be hard with the six weeks (we are away for 3)? He caught chicken pox at 4 week old , and never came into direct contact with someone who had it so the hospital said someone must have carried it , and i don't know if measels is the same .

I feel for you OP. The Anti Vaxxers have put everyone at risk. Are you still breastfeeding? That will give some limited protection at least.

I would probably avoid large volumes of children but still go out. For most kids measeles is unpleasant but not serious. I had all three of the MMR diseases as a child.
